Alina & John – A Wedding Celebration

2017 was such an amazing year for Alina & John. After having a bi-coastal relationship (and yes, Chicago is the third coast of course), they finally sealed their long-distance romance with a beautiful ceremony in Los Angeles and then moved their lives to Chicago where John’s family and practice was. Through all of the craziness they also somehow managed to plan an effortless and beautiful second wedding celebration for all of the family and friends who weren’t able to attend their west coast event. Even though this was technically their second wedding, no detail was out of place and everything from the Classicly beautiful floral and decor by Exquisite Events, to their ultra Chic modern venue space at Chez Chicago, to Alinas perfectly romantic dress by BHLDN melded together perfectly. I must admit though that the food from Limelight catering also made quite a splash and the entire meal was as beautiful to look at as it was delicious!

The real star of the show, however, was most definitely the two of them. They got ready together in their gorgeous suite at the Intercontinental Hotel and while we sent John away so Alina could slip into her dress completing her look, it felt like the kind of lasting love that everyone dreams of. So many laughs while we were doing portraits and I think my favorite shot of the day is John contemplating his wifes’ beautiful dress right after their first look. This was the first time the Groom was an absolute pro at arranging a train on a dress and we were all laughing for the rest of their portrait time. As the day moved on I was overwhelmed by Johns stellar dance moves, and really…. what better way to start your new life together than with fits of laughter at your awesome husband tearing it up like a pro!

Thank you to Alina & John for making me feel like family through the entire process, and trusting me to capture this beautiful celebration in honor of their new life here in Chicago! Welcome home. <3

With Love
